Spigolo

Edgewood

What we liked: cute, good food selection, really nice staff

What we didn't like: some drinks fall flat, limited seating

Spigolo is a cozy shop in a beautiful little building, right across from the C.C. Mellor library. The drink menu is somewhat small, but they have some interesting, bespoke syrups (think blood orange, black sesame). Some of the drinks hit the spot when you're in the neighborhood and need your caffeine fix, but are nothing to write home about. However, they really nail a chai latte and an espresso tonic. AND their food menu (baked goods from local bakeries, breakfast burritos, etc.) is nearly as long as the drink menu! The breakfast burrito was fantastic!

The indoor seating is quite limited, so if you're coming in the winter or the rain, don't plan to stay. But the outdoor patio is very nice. So we recommend a trip to Spigolo for a summer Saturday before the Regent Square yard sale, a festival at Workshop, or just strolling in the area, but it's not always a go-to.

What We Ordered:

Cold Brew

- Solid, hits the spot - kind of hard to mess up a cold brew with cream (though not impossible)

7.0

Matcha

- just okay. not bad, but if you want a good matcha, there's better places to go.

4.2

Chai Latte

- sooo yum! very spicy and perfectly sweet and warm. a lovely balance.

8.3

Espresso Tonics (various seasonal flavors)

- LOVE LOVE LOVE. they do a really solid espresso tonic and have interesting flavors. however, the flavors can be a bit of a hit or miss - the black sesame, for example, didn't taste like anything.
