Big Dog
Southside
What we liked: great lattes and presentation, outdoor seating
What we didn't like: ominous menu, ugly wall art
Big Dog Coffee is a spacious and tabulated coffee shop located in Southside. Big Dog has plenty of seating indoors and has a beautiful outdoor patio. The real star of the show however is their drinks! Served in a big tasteful mug, there lattes are some of the best in Pittsburgh. A subtle but comforting taste and a good balance of foam and milk. The drinks can be a little pricey but are definitely worth it. We also ordered some bagels and they were 5 dollars but very yummy. The wall art was not very picturesque, but the atmosphere and good selection of seating definitely make up for it. It can be hard to know what to order at times because there was no description of the bagel, smoothie, or latte syrup list but everything came out great. The people working were pretty friendly and were happy to help however. Also a decent pastry selection. Super scrumptious lattes would definitely come back!

What We Ordered:

Pumpkin Latte
- Made with house made pumpkin syrup, one of the best lattes we've ever had
- Would go back just to get this again, clear winner for & Jeremey
Honey Latte
- great natural honey taste, not overly sweet either
- favorite of the lattes
Irish Cream Latte
- Also a good latte, but not quite up to the standards of the other two
- Hard to pick up any undertones almost just tastes like a sweeter version of a regular latte
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
- We don't do smoothies often but it was pretty solid and tasted as you'd expect
